Board of Supervisors approves funding in support of local tourism with continuation of Business Improvement Area Assessment
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved a continuation of the county’s Business Improvement Area Assessment without change for fiscal year 2023-24 after receiving the annual tourism assessment report from the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau. The assessment, which supports marketing activities to increase overnight visitors to the county, is expected to generate $4 million in revenue from businesses in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Sebastopol, Cloverdale, Cotati, Windsor and unincorporated areas. The Sonoma County Economic Development Board has been awarded $300,000 from the Federal Communications Commission to expand local enrollment in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides free and discounted internet service to low-income households. Read full story

In June 2022, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved the creation and installation of a memorialartwork recognizing the impact of the Sonoma Complex Fires on the County’s residents and specificallyhonoring the memories of those whose lives were lost. Creative Sonoma Announces $200,000 in Grants to 38 Arts and Cultural Nonprofits
Creative Sonoma is pleased to announce the recipients of its Arts Impact Grants for Organizations program. A record 38 arts and cultural nonprofits will be awarded a total of $200,000 to provide programs and services across the county.
